I. INSTRUCTIONS: THIEN AC Nghiep. Each of our thoughts, actions, and words causes good and bad karma, and that karma will create consequences for the present or the future. Karma leads living beings in samsara, karma creates people with different circumstances: the rich, the poor, the rich, the cowards... so understanding good and evil, our karma will strengthen our faith. their faith is firmer, so that the study for liberation is even more diligent. II. DEFINITION OF GOOD AND NEGATIVE WARNING: Good: Means good, is good, is a right thing, and is reasonably beneficial for oneself and for people in the present as well as in the future. Evil: Means evil, is bad, is a wrong, unreasonable thing that is harmful to oneself and to people in the present as well as in the future. Karma: Are the creations in thoughts, actions, and words that cause consequences for oneself and future circumstances. Newspaper: As retribution, is the result of karma. So Good and Evil Karma Retribution is the result of good deeds and bad deeds caused by ourselves and we have to bear with the surrounding circumstances. That is, those who do good will receive good results, and those who do evil will suffer bad results; For example, if you grow beans, you get beans, and you grow chili peppers. III. MEANING OF GOOD AND EVIL: The meaning of good and evil is not clear, it varies from place to place, depending on circumstances, so we need to understand it clearly. A) Good and Evil According to the World: 1) Good and Evil according to custom: For example, in a family with grandparents' anniversaries, parents are considered to have to kill pigs, chickens, and ducks to cook for a large tray and a full meal. , having a lavish reception for guests, it is said that by doing so, children have Hieu. The West does not worship the dead. In Africa, there are tribes, according to the custom of old parents dying, Children who eat their parents' meat is to love their parents, which is a good deed, which we will condemn harshly, not only being unfilial but also inhumane and uncivilized. So according to the custom of doing the same thing, where it should be, where it should be, where it should be, and where it should be bad. 2) Good and evil according to the law: The law that sets the law also varies from country to country, in order to make that country secure, its borders protected. Whether or not a law is made in favor of one's country will be harmful to another. It is harmful to others if it is made to secure and protects the political system of the rulers. So, according to the law, evil is not entirely right. 3) Good and evil according to theocracy: Many people believe and worship a god, thinking that he created the universe, or ruled over humans, or has the right to bless and bring disaster, must follow his teachings is right, killing living things to make offerings to him is right...while in India, there are religions people don't dare to touch the cow, let alone kill it. Therefore, according to religion, good and evil are only relative. B) GOOD AND Evil According to Buddhism: According to Buddhism, good is what is right and beneficial for oneself and others in the present as well as in the future, evil is what is contrary to right, harmful to oneself and for current and future residents. According to the worldly dharma and out of the world, the dharma can be divided into three types: the good, the evil, and the good. 1) Good deeds: When you do good deeds, you still have to wish for them, so you still have to stay in samsara to enjoy good results, not be liberated. There are two kinds of good incarceration: One is only good, that is, stop and rest, not doing evil like not doing Five opposites: Killing father, killing mother, killing Arahants, breaking harmony with Sangha, bleeding the Buddha's body, and not doing the 10 evils: Killing living beings, stealing , adultery, lying, two-way talk, cruel talk, slander, greed, hatred, delusion. The second is the act of doing good, which means doing ten good deeds: liberating life, giving alms, practicing pure conduct, speaking truthfully, speaking clearly, speaking sweetly, speaking frankly, compassionately, patiently, and thinking rightly. . 2) Became evil: Are evil deeds, causing people to suffer retribution in the six paths. Although there are many evil deeds, they can be summed up in the 5 contrary crimes and the ten evils mentioned above. 3) Unscrupulous goodness: These are good deeds that people do without intention, without expectation, so there is no retribution in the six paths, and there is no reincarnation, these are the deeds of Bodhisattvas or Buddhas, as in the Sutras. Vajrayana Buddha taught: Subhuti! The great Bodhisattvas must save all kinds of sentient beings to enter Nirvana. Although Bodhisattvas have saved immeasurable, innumerable sentient beings like this, they have not seen any sentient beings who have been saved. Why so? If a Bodhisattva still sees that he is saved and sentient beings are saved, that is, the Bodhisattva still holds the four characteristics (the sign of the self, the sign of the person, the sign of living beings, the sign of longevity) then he is not a Bodhisattva. We remember that King Luong Vo De, who was devoted to Buddhism, once posted on the forum to preach the Dharma, but when he met the first patriarch Bodhidharma, he asked: - In a lifetime, I built pagodas to save, worship, give alms, and become vegetarians. What merit? The first ancestor replied: "No", because the king, who has already had many blessings, now needs to do unscrupulous and good deeds, to do it without expecting, without thinking that he has done it, without thinking about the results of the work. I did; If you ask about it, it means that you still remember and think about the results, but it is not the work of a Bodhisattva. IV. KARMA MEANING: A) Identifier: KARMA in Sanskrit, translated by the Chinese as artifact, is the actions of body, mouth, and mind that form the power to cause consequences for oneself and one's circumstances. B) Karma dishes: Regarding the causes of creating karma, there are three things: Body karma is the karma created by our actions, verbal karma is the karma we uttered, and the mind karma is the karma created by our thoughts. i think. Karma also has the existence of the karma that causes people to drift in samsara, the unchanging karma is the karma of the gods in the form world and the formless world, the mind is always concentrated, cultivating according to the power of concentration. Living fruit in the heavens, determined not to change, regardless of karma is the karma of those who see the true heart, are not entangled in any karma, but can also transform into countless inconceivable karmas, in order to transform them. beings. There are karmas that lead sentient beings to receive retribution into a certain species, into a certain race, and to receive the cause and effect of common retribution called karma, although they are the same people in the same area, but rich and poor. to cowardly, different wrong character that is the completion of the karma of the individual retribution, so it is called the end of karma. C) The power of karma: Karma is created and trained into a force that governs all situations and people. 1) Human actions and temperaments are all governed by karma: The nature and circumstances of each person are not natural, they are created by benevolent karma from previous lives. 2) The situation of a nation or a person is also created by karma: A nation is richer or poorer, suffering or happier than other nations, that is due to the common karma of everyone in that country, It is also known as collective karma and each person also has his or her own karma, also known as separate karma. 3) Karma governs reincarnation: After a person dies and then has to be reborn to receive the results of his actions in many previous lives, it is our creations that cause us to undergo samsara. in order to enjoy good retribution or suffer bad retribution, so that humans have to endure samsara forever. There are four types of karma that lead people to reincarnation: Accumulating karma is the karma accumulated from one life to the next, mixed karma is the karma created by confusion in a lifetime, extreme karma is special karma. Dominating more strongly than other karmas, near-death karma is karma caused near death, such as loving wife and children, hating someone... In one of these four karmas, which karma is strong will dominate people's reincarnation according to it. V. RESPONSIBILITIES MEANING: A) Nomenclature: Retribution is the retribution result of the karma created, for example, doing good is the cause of karma, enjoying good is the result of retribution. 1) Retribution dishes: There are two kinds of retribution: Right retribution and medical retribution. a) Chief Justice: The results of self-retribution are governed by karma individually for each person, such as character, shape. b) Medical report: The result of retribution through the circumstances of each person or nation, such as in a family, region, a different rich and poor country. 2) Time in retribution: Human actions, words, and thoughts sometimes have retribution in this life, called karmic retribution, sometimes karma caused in this life will have retribution in the next life, or new karma caused in a previous life, now there is retribution in this life, cause and effect follow each other from life to life called retribution, but there are artificial karmas that have to go through many lifetimes, to have enough support to make the result called after-reward. Splitting the time like that makes it easy to understand, why some people do evil and reap evil, while some people do good all their lives, they encounter all evil, it's because of artificial karma and the results of retribution depend on the individual. grace. 3) Retribution with the influence of the mind: The retribution caused by karma can be divided into 2 types: For example, a person intentionally shoots an animal because he hates it, because it is a piece of meat to eat. .. there will be retribution later on, which is called self-retribution, and the other animal is accidentally killed, after a certain life, it will kill the person who killed it in a previous life, that's called retribution. opposite range. Regarding the opposite caused by the previous life, of course, the next life has the result of retribution, and about the self-consciousness, an action has different results in terms of retribution. Because an action is sometimes mindless, sometimes conscious. a) Careless: A person accidentally kicks an insect to death, it is a mindless action, there is no self-retribution, but the retribution is still there. For example, in the countryside, sometimes people make chickens and ducks. Before doing this, they make vows: - You are transformed into this life, I pray that you will not be born as a chicken in your next life, the duck must be killed by people to eat meat. . Even with such a good mind, the opposite results cannot be avoided. A person who eats well, always does good without thinking about what he is doing, the retribution for his self-esteem is very great. On the other hand, a person who is very cruel, even if their evil deed is heartless, the retribution for their own mind is great, because their mind is always malicious. b) Mindful: A person who does good deeds to seek fame and gain, the retribution will still be reciprocal, but for these deeds, one's own mind is trained in the evil way, on the contrary, a judge for the sake of justice according to the law the law, Sentenced to death or a policeman for security and order has to hunt down and detain criminals, these are still activities of self-discipline trained in the good way. There are people who believe in cause and effect, intentionally doing good deeds, doing good deeds, someone out of hatred, for fame and gain, intentionally doing evil, the training in self-heart is very heavy on the evil path. When doing good and evil deeds, the mind is happy, and if you want to do more, the training place for that good and evil mind will increase much more. BECAUSE. THE CONNECTION BETWEEN Kamma of Good and Evil and the Retribution of Good and Evil. A) The principle of good and evil retribution lies in the Law of Cause and Effect: We already know about cause and effect, if we have sown causes, of course there must be results, so good and evil retribution is a law, a detail of the Law of Cause and Effect. . B) Humans still have the right and can change their retribution: When we know we have done evil deeds, if we repent, If you repent, the consequences of those bad karmas can change. For example, in the sutras it says: "Sins from the heart begin to repent, the mind has already repented, the sins are gone, and the sins of the mind are all gone, that's the real thing. is the foot of repentance”. Or do good deeds in return, the evil retribution also dissipates, such as the story of Thu Huong in Cu Lao Pho, Bien Hoa, Vietnam. VII. CONCLUSION: The principle of good and evil tells us that each of us is responsible for what we create in body, speech and mind. These artifacts cause karma with consequences in the present or the future, so the personality and situation of each person or a nation are created by the karma of the past. One can change retribution by cultivating one's mind, cultivating one's character, repenting of one's bad deeds, avoiding stumbling blocks in the future, and conscientiously doing good deeds.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.7/1/2022.
